EASTON, Mass.
– The Stonehill Skyhawks won the NE-10 Women's Cross Country title, while the American International College Yellow Jackets won the NE-10 Men's Cross Country title at the 2016 NE-10 Cross Country Championships held at Stonehill College on Saturday.

It was the eighth-straight women's title for Stonehill and 15th overall. For AIC, it was the Yellow Jackets' third men's title in a row.

Stonehill's Nicole Borofski won her second NE-10 individual title in a row, becoming just the seventh repeat women's individual winner in NE-10 Championship history. She broke her own NE-10 6K record, set at last year's championships, taking first place with a time of 21:26.2.

Leading the way for AIC was Leakey Kipkosgei, who came away victorious as the men's individual champion. Kipkosgei, who finished second at last year's championships, took first place this year with a time of 24:35.4, the 11th fastest 8K time in NE-10 Championship history.

The Skyhawks topped the women's field with 40 points, finishing with seven individuals in the top 15. After Borofski, Alexandra Bounfiglio and Anna Lastra also posted top-10 finishes for Stonehill. Assumption placed second with 82 points, followed by Bentley in third with 131. Merrimack came in fourth with 149 points, while Southern Connecticut rounded out the top 5 with 173 points.
