NE-10 RELEASE
Ippolito led one of the most dominant eras of any sport in NE-10 history as his men’s tennis teams captured nine straight Northeast-10 Conference Championships during his 11 years as the Assumption head coach.
A five-time NE-10 Coach of the Year, Ippolito’s teams posted an overall record of 187-41 for a winning percentage of .820 and advanced to nine straight NCAA tournaments. His teams were even more impressive in Northeast-10 play, posting a record of 101-13.
At one point, Assumption posted 117 straight victories under Ippolito. He coached 24 of the 25 winningest players in school history, including four-time Northeast-10 Player of the Year and current Hall of Fame member Sean Kenney.
- Assumption went undefeated in conference play over Ippolito’s final nine seasons from the 1998-99 season through 2006-07, going 95-0 vs. NE-10 teams during that stretch
- The Greyhounds won nine straight NE-10 titles from 1999-2007, earning NCAA tournament bids in each of the nine seasons
- In 2002, Ippolito led Assumption to the NCAA East Regional title, defeating Bloomsburg, 5-4
- Honored for his performance during his playing days in 1995, Ippolito was recognized by the USTA for winning 100 sanctioned tournaments
