Bentley Earns Pair of Honors

Week 3 - September 23, 2024


NE10 Player of the Week

Claudia Peirce, Franklin Pierce
Junior | Midfield/Forward | Carver, Mass.

 

Peirce recorded two goals and two assists (six points) in a 2-0 week for the Ravens. She began the week with two assists in a 6-0 win over STAC. Peirce closed out the week with two goals in the Ravens 3-1 win over NE10 opponent AIC to allow them to go 1-0 in conference play.  


NE10 Defensive Player of the Week

Shelby Green, Southern Connecticut
Junior | Defense | Milford, Conn.

 

Green has played a major role in Southern Connecticut’s stout defense. This week, the defender helped lead a Southern squad that shut out Holy Family 4-0. Later in the week, she would play all 90 minutes against Adelphi, holding a Panthers’ offense that was averaging three goals a game to one score. On the season, Green and the Owls have only allowed three scores and 14 corners. 


NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Claire Ewen, Bentley
Senior | Goalkeeper | Arlington, Mass.

 

Ewen helped Bentley to a 1-0-1 record last week. She made three saves in a 2-0 win over AIC, including a key save in the final minutes with the game still 1-0. Ewen had two saves in Saturday's 1-1 tie with Saint Michael's and had an assist on the tying goal in the 89th minute. 


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Abi Hennessey, Bentley
Sophomore (Rookie Eligible) | Midfield | Newton, Mass.

 

Hennessey had a hand in all three Bentley goals in a 1-0-1 week. She scored the tying goal in the 89th minute of Saturday's 1-1 tie with Saint Michael's. Earlier in the week, she scored and assisted in a 2-0 victory over AIC.
