Adelphi's Asencio Rolls Last Season's Success into 2025 Start.

NE10 Player of the Week

Isabella Asencio, Adelphi
Junior | Guard | Midland Park, N.Y.

In a 2–0 week for Adelphi women’s basketball, Asencio averaged 24.5 points per game. She scored 31 against Caldwell - a new career high - and 18 against Dominican. She was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the win over the Cougars, and made 11 shots from the field, which also stands as a career best. In addition to scoring she shared the ball, dishing out nine assists over the two wins. 


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Aisa Akinola, Pace
Freshman | Forward | Livingston, N.J.

Across two games, Akinola averaged 12.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 33.0 minutes while shooting 10-for-29 from the field. She opened the week with a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double against Dominican, adding two steals, one block, and shooting 3-for-3 at the free-throw line. Akinola followed with 5 points and 7 rebounds in 31 minutes against Caldwell, hitting 1 three-pointer and finishing the weekend with 25 points, 18 total rebounds, 2 steals, and just 4 turnovers over 66 minutes of action.
