Men's Ice Hockey 2/15/2025 11:00:38 PM Saint Anselm Claims Top Spot in NE10 Ice Hockey Championship Hawks Win Regular Season Title for Second Time in Three Years MANSFIELD, Mass. - Saint Anselm earned its second regular season title in three years and will be the top seed in the Northeast-10 Conference Ice Hockey Championship, as the matchups were announced by the league office on Saturday night. Saint Anselm (17-9-2, 16-3-1 NE10) ran away with the NE10 regular season championship by tallying 50 points in conference games - 15 more than the next team in the standings. It is the largest margin of difference between a first and second place team in league history. The Hawks will receive a first-round bye on Tuesday, advancing to next Saturday's semifinals. Hunter Brackett led Saint Anselm's top-ranked offense in the regular season, netting a league-best 20 goals and recording a league-high 40 points. The Hawks averaged 3.96 goals per game, more than any other NE10 program, under head coach Larry Rocha. Saint Michael's, the No. 2 seed, will also advance to the semifinals after sweeping Assumption to close the regular season which helped the Purple Knights (16-11-2, 12-8 NE10) claim one of the top two seeds. Saint Michael's finished 6-3 down the stretch in conference games to earn the bye. On Tuesday night, No. 3-seeded Southern New Hampshire will host No. 6-seeded Franklin Pierce, while reigning champion Assumption welcomes No. 5-seeded Post as part of first round matchups.
