Garcia and Krause Named Softball All-Americans

Pace Pitcher Named 1st Team, League's Defensive Player of the Year on 3rd Team

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Northeast 10 Conference landed two players in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America softball teams, announced Wednesday.  Pace pitcher Gisselle Garcia and Bentley outfielder Jordan Krause earned first and third team honors respectively.

An at-large selection to the All-America First Team, Garcia heads into the Division II College World Series ranked second nationally in ERA and strikeouts.  With a 28-4 record, Garcia ranks fourth nationally in victories and sixth in total appearances.  She was named the NE10 and East Region Pitcher of the Year.  She's thrown 20 of her career 45 shutouts this season.

Krause was named the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year earlier this spring.  She was named an outfielder on the NFCA's All-America Third Team.  Krause is Bentley's all-time leader in home runs (23), hits (224), runs (127), doubles (51), and RBI (109).  She was one of two NE10 hitters this season (Jenna Devens) to hit better than .400.
