Bentley Women's Basketball Wins Third-Straight Regular Season Title

First Round of NE10 Championship is Sunday

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - For the third straight season, Bentley women's basketball has won the regular season title and claimed the top seed in the Northeast 10 Conference Women's Basketball Championship, presented by Visit Central Florida - as announced by the league office on Wednesday night.

Bentley (21-3, 17-1 NE10), ranked No. 12 in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) rankings, enters the postseason on a seven-game winning streak. The Falcons look for their fifth consecutive NE10 Championship title under head coach C White. Bentley, the NE10's top scoring defense (53.4 points allowed per game) has earned a first-round bye and will host a semifinal game on Thursday, March 5. 

Southern Connecticut (21-5, 16-2 NE10) earned the No. 2 seed in the Championship after winning its most regular season games since the 2011-12 season. The Owls have won 15 of their last 16 games - including a victory over Bentley, the only conference loss suffered by the Falcons this season. 

Southern Connecticut joins Assumption (No. 3 seed) and American International (No. 4 seed) with hosting duties in first round action on Sunday, March 1. Saint Michael's, Southern New Hampshire and Adelphi round-out the seven-team bracket and will travel this weekend.

The NE10 Women's Basketball Championship, presented by Visit Central Florida, will conclude with the final on Sunday, March 8. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast live on SNY and NBC Sports Philadelphia+, as well as on NE10 NOW on FloSports. * Saint Anselm also finished with a 7-11 record; the two teams were 1-1 vs. each other during the regular season. When comparing results vs. teams occupying the highest position in the standings, both teams were 0-2 vs. Bentley, Southern Connecticut & Assumption. Adelphi earned the #7 seed based on their 2-0 regular season record vs. AIC (Saint Anselm was 0-2 vs. AIC).
 
First-Round – Sunday, March 1st:
Game 1: #7 Adelphi at #2 Southern Connecticut – 1:30 PM
Game 2: #6 Southern New Hampshire at #3 Assumption – 1:30 PM
Game 3: #5 Saint Michael's at #4 American International – 1:30 PM
 
Semifinals – Thursday, March 5th:
Game 4: Game 3 winner vs. #1 Bentley - 6:00 PM
Game 5: Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner (at highest remaining seed)
 
Championship – Sunday, March 8th:
Game 6: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner (at highest remaining seed)
