Cumiskey, Davis Lead SNHU to 7-0 Week

NE10 Player of the Week

Casey Cumiskey, Southern New Hampshire
Junior | Shortstop | Milltown, N.J.

Casey Cumiskey batted .429 (9-21) with four home runs, 15 RBI and 10 runs scored in a 7-0 week for SNHU. Cumiskey also drew three walks and racked up seven extra-base hits with three doubles on top of the four homers, as he slashed .500/1.143/1.643. Cumiskey set the tone for the week in Monday's doubleheader sweep of AIC, as he went 5-for-7 with two home runs, two doubles, eight RBI and five runs scored. He hit safely in six of the seven contests and still managed to drive in three runs in the one he didn't. 


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Jack Davis, Southern New Hampshire
Junior | Pitcher | Dracut, Mass.

Davis went 2-0 in three relief appearances during a 7-0 week for SNHU, hurling 13.1 scoreless innings, as he allowed just seven hits, while striking out 11 and walking three. With the Penmen trailing 6-5 in the third inning of game two of Monday's doubleheader with AIC, Davis came on and slammed the door on the Yellow Jackets, tossing four shutout frames and allowing just two hits, while walking a pair and striking out five, as SNHU ended up rolling to a 19-6 victory. Davis saved his best for last, however, entering game two of Saturday's doubleheader with Assumption with one out in the top of the first and went a career-long eight-and-two-thirds innings. He gave up five hits, while striking out five and walking just one, as the Penmen won, 3-0.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Zach DeMilt, Adelphi
Freshman | Utility | Lake Grove, N.Y.

DeMilt was a huge part of Adelphi's four-game sweep of Franklin Pierce over the weekend. Playing both third base and left field, the freshman was 9-for-20 on the week (8-for-15 against FPU), driving in nine runs, scoring seven and hitting his first career home run. DeMilt is now hitting .400 on the season, tied for second in the NE10.
