Georgieva is the first player since Merrimack's Grace Messina in 2013 to earn both honors in the same season. Overall, she becomes just the fifth player in league history to accomplish the feat. Georgieva went 7-0 at No. 1 singles this season, including a win over previously-unbeaten Irene Garbo of Saint Anselm in the final regular season match. New Haven's Chris Raffone was named the NE10 Coach of the Year after leading the Chargers to their first outright, and second-straight overall, regular season title in program history with an 8-0 record in league play.
