Haines Puts Up Career-High 36 Points in Win

Delaney Haines, Southern Connecticut

Haines had a massive day for the Owls against Bloomfield, as she totaled a career-best and the fourth-most points scored in a single game in SCSU women’s basketball history, with 36 points. Additionally, 36 points is the most points scored in a single game so far this season in the Northeast-10 Conference by an individual. Haines made 13-out-of 23 field goals, with eight made three-pointers, which is the most made three-pointers in the NE10 so far by an individual in a single game this season, was 2-for-2 from the free-throw line, dished out six assists and had a steal in the historic 112-39 win over Bloomfield - which was the most points scored in a single game in SCSU women’s basketball program history. As part of a 2-0 week for SCSU, Haines averaged 23.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists. 


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Arianna Gerkin, Southern Connecticut
Freshman | Forward | Vincennes, Ind.

 

Gerkin recorded the first double-double of her career, with a career-best of 14 points and 10 rebounds, as she was 6-for-9 from the field, 100% from the free-throw line, had two blocks and a steal in a 112-39 win against Bloomfield, which was the most points scored in a single game in SCSU women's basketball history. In a 2-0 week, Gerkin averaged 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds on 73% shooting.
