Garbo Picks Up Big Win; Earns NE10 Honors

NE10 Player of the Week

Irene Garbo, Saint Anselm
Junior | Assemini, Sardinia, Italy

 

In a 1-1 week for Saint Anselm, Garbo came out of the gate firing, picking up wins at No. 1 singles in matches against conference foes Adelphi and Saint Michael's. The junior also earned a win at No. 1 doubles against Saint Michael's with partner Camila Heredia-Osante. Her biggest win came at No. 1 singles over Katarina Liedbeck of reigning NE10 champion Adelphi by a 6-1, 3-6, 10-3 margin. 


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Laurence Bosmans, Assumption
Freshman | Lommel, Belgium

 

Bosmans went 4-0 on the week in her first week of collegiate action. She began the week with a 6-1 win with Ina Bechle at No. 3 Doubles before winning 6-3, 6-7, 19-17 at No. 3 Singles against Post. Bosmans capped off an undefeated week with a 6-3 win at No. 3 Doubles and breezed to a 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 Singles against Post.
