SNHU Sweeps Weekly Honors

NE10 Player of the Week

Dajana Abadzic, Southern New Hampshire
Junior | Weinstadt, Germany

Abadzic went 5-1 during a 2-1 week for SNHU, as she finished 2-1 at the top singles flight and a perfect 3-0 at No. 1 doubles. She began the week by blanking Adriana Colafranceschi, 6-0, 6-0, in a 7-0 shutout of St. John Fisher on Monday. She then took care of Carissa Shepard, 6-0, 6-2, in another 7-0 victory against Seton Hill on Tuesday, before finally losing Thursday, 0-6, 6-7 (5-7), to Alexandra Nikonenko in a 7-0 loss to Michigan Tech. She teamed with Lois Tsui for doubles victories against St. John Fisher’s Colafranceschi and Riana Buttino (6-0), Seton Hill’s Shepard and Kaylee Kanuka (6-0), and Michigan Tech’s Bella Bigari and Emily Rose (6-2).


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Megan Leck, Southern New Hampshire
Freshman | Wolviston, Billingham, U.K.

Leck recorded a 4-1 mark during SNHU’s 2-1 week, as she was 2-1 at No. 3 singles, as well as 2-1 at the second doubles flight. Leck did not drop a game in Monday’s 7-0 blanking of St. John Fisher, as she was a 6-0, 6-0 winner against Isabella Busch. She then made quick work of Alexandra Wolf, 6-1, 6-2, in another 7-0 win Tuesday over Seton Hill. Leck finally lost Thursday in a 7-0 defeat against Michigan Tech, suffering a 0-6, 2-6 setback versus Emily Cojocaru. Leck and Eyglo Armannsdottir grounded St. John Fisher’s Busch and Lily Miller, 6-0, slowed Seton Hill’s Wolf and Alycia Derr, 6-1, and were edged by Michigan Tech’s Cojocaru and Caoimhe McDonnell, 6-4.
