Women's Volleyball 11/19/2025 2:00:00 PM McQueen Wins Player of the Year, as Volleyball Honors Announced Bentley Tallies Three Major Awards. NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Macarty McQueen became the first Adelphi player in a decade to win Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Year, highlighting the release of All-Conference volleyball honors by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. Overall, McQueen is just the second player in Adelphi program history to earn the honor, joining Megan Manierski, who accomplished the feat in 2015. McQueen led all NE10 players this season in kills (408), kills per set (4.08), points (448.5) and points per set (4.49). She ranks in the Top 20 in kills and in the Top 30 in points among all Division II players. Bentley, the NE10 regular season champion, won three major awards, as Elizabeth Blinn won Defensive Player of the Year, Tory Vitko was named Setter of the Year and Joey Pacis was tabbed the Sandy Hoffman Coach of the Year. Southern Connecticut's Kimberli Mitchell earned Rookie of the Year. Adelphi led all NE10 programs with six All-Conference selections, including McQueen, Madeleine Chaapel and Ana Carolina Westerich on the First Team. AIC was second with five All-Conference honorees, while three out of four Bentley selections were on the First Team (Blinn, Vitko and Sophia Poehlein). McQueen had double-digit kills in 23 of 30 matches this season, including a massive 29-kill, 24-dig performance against Post on September 6. Her hitting percentage of .313 ranked sixth in the NE10, as she helped Adelphi to a 23-7 record (8-1 NE10) and the No. 2 seed in the NE10 Volleyball Championship. Blinn had another monster defensive season for Bentley, as she leads all of Division II in blocks per set (1.68) and is sixth in total blocks (143). She had at least five blocks in 18 matches this season, including two with 10 or more. Vitko ranked second in assists per set (9.33) in the NE10, serving as the linchpin for Bentley's offense attack. She had 30 or more assists in 13 matches. Blinn and Vitko are two of the biggest reasons for Bentley's current 18-match winning streak. Mitchell is the first Southern Connecticut player to ever win Rookie of the Year. She ranked fifth among all NE10 setters with 7.16 assists per set this season, while adding 94 kills and 145 digs to her stat line. Her best performance came in a five-set win over Pace on Oct. 21, where Mitchell recorded 46 assists and 18 digs. Pacis wins the Sandy Hoffman Coach of the Year award, which is named after his coaching predecessor at Bentley. It is the fourth time in his career at Bentley and the sixth time overall (twice at Merrimack) that Pacis has earned the honor. He led Bentley to an undefeated conference season for the first time since 2005 and the NE10 regular season title, while earning the top seed and hosting rights for the NE10 Volleyball Championship. The Falcons have not lost a match since Sept. 13 against No. 2 Angelo State. The Coach of the Year award is named after Sandy Hoffman, an NE10 Hall of Fame coach at Bentley who recorded 758 career victories – 11th-most all-time in Division II history.
