Each week during the academic year, the NE10 honors
Athletes of the Week for all of its 24 sponsored sports while they are in season. Faces in the Crowd shines a spotlight on outstanding on-field performances that didn't earn Athlete of the Week recognition, while also highlighting academic or community efforts from student-athletes across the league.
Below are this week's
NE10 Faces in the Crowd.
Amelia Hohos
School: Saint Anselm
Sport: Soccer
Few players want a game to go to penalty kicks. Hohos does. The Hawks reserve keeper, Hohos is called upon in PK's and stepped up in both the NE10 Championship semifinals and finals last week. Saint Anselm advanced by both Adelphi and Franklin Pierce in PK's, winning its first league crown since 1991 in the process. Hohos made a huge stop on the championship's penultimate kick, setting up Meghan Deneen to win the title.
Ana Carolina Westerich
School: Adelphi
Sport: Volleyball
Westerich notched her 1,000th (and counting) career assist this past week, playing her first season at Adelphi. The setter transfered from Indian Hills Communicty College, where she was an All-American. Adelphi is the No. 2 seed in the NE10 Championship and plays AIC on Friday in the semifinals.
Dayshawn Walton
School: Adelphi
Sport: Basketball
A two-time NE10 First Team performer, Walton opened 2025-26 with a 31 point game against Molloy on just 13 shots. Walton hit six of his seven threes to set a new career-high from behind the arc. The 31 points were the most in a single game for Walton since his Rookie of the Year season four years ago (38).
Taeya Steinauer and Rheyna Steinauer
School: Southern Connecticut State
Sport: Basketball
Playing together for the first time in college, the Steinauer sisters turned heads last week. Taeya, a transfer from Purdue Fort Wayne, averaged 16 points, eight rebounds, five steals and three assists across her team's first two games. Rheyna, meanwhile, scored 30 points while hauling in 11 rebounds in the Owl opener.
Will Gomes
School: Franklin Pierce
Sport: Football
Gomes picked off a pair of passes against Pace on Saturday, helping lock up FPU's sixth win of the season -- a new program record. It was the second two-interception game for Gomes this fall with both coming against the Setters.

ABOUT THE NE10
The NE10 is an association of 10 diverse institutions serving student-athletes across 24 NCAA Division II sports. Together we build brilliant futures by embracing the journey of every student-athlete.
Each year, 4,500 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 24 sports, making the NE10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship. Leading the way in the classroom, on the field and within the community, the NE10 is proud of its comprehensive program and the experience it provides student-athletes.
Fans can subscribe via this link to follow NE10 NOW on FloSports this season. The partnership between the NE10 and FloSports works to provide funds back to the athletic departments of the Northeast-10 Conference in support of student-athletes while promoting the league on a national platform.
