Brookes Leads Regional Awards as D2CCA Player of the Year

NE10 Women's Soccer Programs Tally 25 All-Region Selections.

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Saint Michael's Scarlett Brookes - the Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Year - picks up another award for her 2025 season, as she has been named East Region Women's Soccer Player of the Year by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

Brookes leads a group of 16 women's soccer players from the NE10 to earn a total of 25 All-Region selections from D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches. She is one of nine players to earn All-Region honors from both organizations - and one of just six to win multiple selections to the First Team. Brookes is the first Saint Michael's player to ever win D2CCA East Region Player of the Year.

Franklin Pierce led all NE10 programs with five players being selected, while Saint Anselm and Saint Michael's both had four.

Brookes, a sophomore forward, leads the NE10 in goals (13), points (31) and game-winning goals (6) - all while missing four games this season. She ranks in the top 10 nationally in goals per game and points per game, leading Saint Michael's to a historic season with a 16-3-1 record. The Purple Knights set program records in wins (16) and shutouts (13).

Franklin Pierce's Samantha Breton, the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, and Saint Michael's Chloe Laizer, the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year, also earned First Team All-Region recognition from both D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches. Breton was joined by teammates Jenni Huttunen and Makenzie Shean on the First Team.

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., United Soccer Coaches has grown into the world's largest soccer coaches' organization that serves members at every level of the game. United Soccer Coaches works every day to inspire coaches and ignite their passion for the game so they pass it on to players and others in the soccer community.

The D2CCA encourages and promotes DII athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact DII intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA DII member colleges and universities.
