Penmen Shutout Puts Them Back in Semifinals

Nic Dellaire's Second Period Goal Wins It For SNHU

Penmen Advance to Semifinals with 1-0 Win


HOOKSETT, N.H. – Sophomore Collin Berke recorded 20 saves in a shutout, and sophomore Nic Dallaire scored the game's only goal as Southern New Hampshire won 1-0 over Franklin Pierce to advance to the NE10 Championship semifinals on Saturday.

 KEY MOMENTS
  • The teams battled through a scoreless first period but the Penmen had a 12-2 shot advantage.
  • Dallaire connected for the game-winning goal at 7:10 of the second period.  Pomposelli sent the puck into the right corner, and Marchant's cross-ice pass found an open Dallaire who scored top shelf.
  • Berke made six saves in the final period including several with the Ravens utilizing an extra attacker in the closing minute to secure the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • SNHU had 36 shots on goal to 20 for the Ravens
  • SNHU went 0-for-4 on the power play while Franklin Pierce was 0-for-1.  
  • The Ravens had more blocks, 14-6 but the Penmen had a 44-32 edge on face-offs with junior Brendan Lynch leading the way with 14 wins in 20 tries.
NOTES
  • The Penmen went 4-0-1 against the Ravens this season and lead the all-time series 42-18-8.  
  • SNHU improves to 4-2 all-time against Franklin Pierce in the NE10 Championship although the Ravens had won the previous two meetings in 2013 and 2023.
  • Berke's 12 wins in goal this season are tied for fifth most in a season for SNHU.  He now has five shutouts this season and six for his career.
  • Dallaire's goal was his first of the season, and second of his career.  The defenseman had been sidelined with injury for more than half of this season.  His previous goal came 12/8/23 against Post University.
  • Defenseman Jim Minnig played in his first game since January 31.
UP NEXT
  • The Penmen will head to No. 2 seed Saint Michael's College on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Northeast-10 Championship Semifinals.  The teams split four regular season games.
