MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Adelphi Panthers, 2024 NCAA Division II National Champions, took home major hardware heading into the Northeast-10 postseason. Braden Donnellan was named NE10 Player of the Year, Dylan Renner made it a three-peat as Goalie of the Year and Ries Bower took home Defensive Player of the Year, headlining the league's major awards.
Donnellan had one of the best seasons across all divisions this spring, leading DII in points per game. He is a likely candidate and frontrunner for National Player of the Year. His total points led all of Division I and II.
Renner becomes the first player to win Goalkeeper of the Year for three straight seasons since Le Moyne's Jared Corcoran, who won four times from 2004 to 2007. Renner was also last season's Division II overall Most Outstanding Player en route to the national title.
Bower wins the league's top defensive honor a year after claiming co-Rookie of the Year with longtime friend Carter Linkletter at AIC. Linkletter was named All-NE10 First Team this spring. A year after setting the DII record for single-season caused turnovers, Bower continued his dominance, playing both close defense and LSM this year.
The conference's other major awards included Assumption goalie Shane Corcoran and St. Anselm attack Matt Lemay splitting Rookie of the Year with the head coaches from both teams splitting Coach of the Year honors. Assumption's Guy Bourdon is the first Greyhounds coach win the award since 2011. St. Anselm's Drew Bourdeau wins in his first season as head coach.
Corcoran led all NE10 keepers in save percentage and was the main reason behind Assumption's incredible defensive year. The Hounds were a top-five defense in the country all season. Corcoran had a flair for the dramatic as well, making several highlight reel saves diving across the cage.
Lemay finished his debut season with three straight hat tricks and 28 goals. He made an immediate impact with four goals vs ranked Mercy in his third college game.
The final two major awards went to Assumption's Connor Stack as the Faceoff Specialist of the Year. Stack is third nationally in faceoff win percentage and the only NE10 FOGO ranked in the country's top 10.
Saint Michael's attack Sebastian Simonson was named Offensive Player of the Year, finishing his career 16th in league history in career goals and 10th nationally in active career goals. Simonson is the first Purple Knight student-athlete to win a men's lacrosse major award. Simonson finished his senior season sixth in points per game and second in the NE10 behind only league Player of the Year, Donnellan.
Adelphi led the way with 12 selections between the all-conference teams. The Panthers had a league-best six student-athletes named to the NE10 First Team. Conference champion St. Anselm checked in just behind Adelphi with 10 all-conference honorees. The First Team was made up of 15 student-athletes while the Second Team and Third Team each contain 17 names. The All-Rookie team has 21 players recognized.
