SCSU and New Haven Lead the Way Heading the Pueblo

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Five Southern Connecticut State Owls lead the ten Northeast-10 track and field student-athletes selected to the NCAA Division II Championship next weekend in Colorado.  Three total schools earned league representation at the national meet.

Hannah Caiola heads to Pueblo, Colo. as the highest seed, holding the second-best time in the nation in the 400m behind only Peace Nwaelehia from West Texas A+M.  Caiola earned All-America honors at the NCAA Championship last season and is the NE10 champion in the event.

Fellow Owls Osaretin Osagie (110m Hurdles), Lawrence Hicks (High Jump), Cameron Belton (Shot Put) and Natanael Barbosa Torres (Shot Put) round out the Owls field.  Belton has won the Shot Put in every meet this season with the exception of the NCAA Indoor Championship, at which he was named an All-American.  Hicks is the lone NE10 rookie selected to the NCAA's after winning the NE10 title indoor and outdoor.

Assumption's Malina Bohlmann makes her second NCAA Championship appearance in two seasons for the Hounds.  Bohlmann, a walk-on last season, made huge waves when she won the conference title then earned All-America status.  Bohlmann defended her NE10 title this spring.

Jordany Dely (110m Hurdles), Nile Love (Long Jump), Jada Kamtha (100m Hurdles) and Gabby Teel (Triple Jump) were also selected to represent the conference next weekend.

The NCAA Championship will be held from May 22nd to 24th, hosted by Colorado State - Pueblo.
