NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. - Five Northeast 10 schools captured postseason major honors in outdoor track & field, announced Tuesday by the conference office. Awards were voted on by the league's head coaches.
NE10 Champion Southern Connecticut State carried the torch with four awards, including Women's Track Athlete of the Year and Men's Field Athlete of the Year. Junior runner Hannahi Caiola was named Track Athlete of the Year after advancing to the NCAA Championship in the 400m with the second-best time in Division II this season. Caiola won both the 200m and 400m at the NE10 Championship earlier this month.
Cameron Belton, who has won the shot put in all but two meets this year, was named NE10 Field Athlete of the Year. He is one of two SCSU throwers headed to the NCAA Championship this week in the event and is both the indoor and outdoor NE10 Shot Put champion.
Lawrence Hicks also earned Rookie Field Athlete of the Year for SCSU. Hicks is the 2025 NE10 High Jump champion and also took silver in the Long Jump.
The final major award for the Owls went to John Wallin as men's Coach of the Year after SCSU took home their ninth straight NE10 outdoor championship.
The men's Track Rookie of the Year is Logan Montgomery. Saint Anselm's star won gold in the NE10 400m and silver in the 200m earlier this month. The 400m win was a PR and his time was a second ahead of the next competitor.
Manchester also saw the women's Track Rookie of the Year in SNHU's Hannah Sippel. She ran four events at the NE10 Championship with her best finish coming in the 400m, where she won bronze. Sippel also contributed to the 4x100 and 4x400 squads for the Penmen while also taking off in the 200m individually.
Adelphi wasn't to be denied, with Lori Melville being named the women's co-Rookie of the Year. Melville had top-10 finishes at the NE10 Championship in both the Shot Put and the Discus.
New Haven also had a solid awards haul with Jordany Dely claiming NE10 Track Athlete of the Year on the men's side while Gabby Teel was named Field Athlete of the Year for the women. Rookie Miana Qinonez was co-Rookie of the Year. Dely and Teel are both headed to the NCAA Championship this week. Shaunnaya Williams captured Coach of the Year after the Chargers placed second at the NE10 Championship -- after a runner up finish during the indoor season as well.
