NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Seven Adelphi Panthers will begin their national championship reign as preseason United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-Americans. The group headlines 14 total Northeast 10 student-athletes named by the organization.
NE10 Player of the Year Braden Donnellan joins the National Midfielder of the Year Kyle Lewis on the USILA Preseason All-America First Team. The duo led Adelphi to its second straight NCAA title last spring. Lewis scored the game-winning-goal in overtime to capture last year's crown. The pair is flanked by the defensive trio of Michael D'Alessandro, Ries Bower and Carter Linkletter. Bower was named the best defender in DII last season while Linkletter, then playing for American International, was the country's top LSM.
Adelphi's cohort is rounded out by Noah Gibson on the All-America Second Team and Ryan Bauco on the third unit.
Saint Anselm, picked by the NE10 coaches to finish second in the league's preseason poll, saw the next biggest haul. Defensive midfielder Colby Goodchild finds himself on the Preseason All-America First Team while NE10 Rookie of the Year Matt Lemay landed on the second team. Faceoff expert Quinn Gannon found a spot on the third team along with NE10 FOGO of the Year Connor Stack from Assumption.
Finally, Pace and Bentley each picked up third team nods in Will Danowski and Chris Butler from the Setters and defender Kyle Piersiak in Waltham, an NE10 First Team performer last spring.
