NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Saint Anselm's Will Davies was named East Region Player of the Year by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) on Thursday - highlighting All-Region honors for the Northeast 10 Conference.
Davies leads a group of five men's basketball players from the NE10 to earn All-Region status - and is one of only two on the First Team, joining Southern New Hampshire's Jojo Wallace. Three players - Bentley's Cooper Farrall and Cash McClure, as well as Saint Anselm's Josh Morissette - were named to the Second Team.
Davies, who was just named Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Year, earns another distinction, becoming the first Hawk in program history to be named D2CCA East Region Player of the Year. The East region includes teams from the Northeast 10, East Coast Conference (ECC), and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).
He joins head coach Chris Santo '15 as one of 13 All-East Region First Team selections in program history, with Santo accomplishing the feat in 2015. Davies becomes the first Hawk to earn First Team honors in the East Region since Tyler Arbuckle '24 earned the distinction in 2023.
A sophomore guard, Davies has helped lead the Hawks to a 23-7 record, a 14-4 mark in NE10 play, and the 11th NE10 Championship in program history en route to Saint Anselm's 27th trip to the NCAA Division II Championship. Davies is the engine behind the Hawks' high-scoring offense, leading the NE10 with 7.3 assists per game, the second-best mark in all of Division II, and his 219 assists this year rank seventh all-time in a single season by a Hawk.
Davies averages 13.8 points per game, the second-best mark on the team, while ranking 11th in the conference. Shooting at an efficient 52.7% clip from the field, Davies sits at eighth in the NE10 and second on Saint Anselm in field goal percentage. Davies has scored in double-figures in 19 straight games, totaling 25 double-digit scoring efforts out of his 30 starts this season.
The NE10 led all East Region conferences with five selections to All-Region teams, including two from both Bentley and Saint Anselm.
The D2CCA encourages and promotes DII athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact DII intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA DII member colleges and universities.
