Adelphi's Kyle Lewis Becomes Second NE10 Player Drafted by PLL

Lewis joins Bentley's Max Adler as draft picks of field lacrosse's top league

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - For just the fourth time in Premiere Lacrosse League history, and the first time since 2021, an NCAA Division II student-athlete was selected in the league's collegiate draft Tuesday.  The 2025 National Midfielder of the Year, Adelphi's Kyle Lewis, was taken by the Philadelphia Waterdogs with the 29th overall selection in the PLL's 2026 draft.

Lewis follows teammate Dylan Renner to the PLL after the goalie was signed as a free agent by the Utah Archers after last season's back-to-back NCAA titles.

The 2025 NE10 Championship Most Outstanding Player, Lewis is a multiple-time All-American and has scored 106 goals along with 82 assists to this point in his career.  He scored the game-winning-goal in overtime of the 2025 NCAA National Championship.  The New York native briefly entered the transfer portal after last season's NCAA title run, flirting with opportunities at the DI level before opting for a return to AU to finish his college career.

The Premiere Lacrosse League, founded by Johns Hopkins and Major League Lacrosse legend Paul Rabil, has been the country's premiere professional field lacrosse league since merging with MLL in 2020.  The league fields eight teams during a three-to-four month summer season and is televised nationally on ESPN's family of networks.

Lewis is the first DII student-athlete selected in the PLL draft since Bentley's Max Adler was taken by Chaos Lacrosse Club in 2021.  Lindenwood's Graeme Hossack was also selected that year and Mercyhurst's James Wittmeyer was chosen in 2020.  Current Adelphi assistant coach Greg Puskuldjian was the 13th pick in the 2020 PLL Player Entry Draft after coming over from Major League Lacrosse when the league's merged.

The 2026 PLL season beings May 8th, with the first weekend of play after the completion of the NCAA season coming in Baltimore on May 29th and 30th.
