Saint Anselm Advances in NE10 Women's Tennis Opening Round

Hawks Take Down Franklin Pierce, 4-1

RINDGE, N.H. – The Saint Anselm women's tennis team continued its 2026 spring with a 4-1 win over Franklin Pierce in the Northeast 10 Conference First Round on Friday afternoon.
 

Saint Anselm claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.  In singles play, Saint A's clinched the match with wins at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 singles.  Camila Heredia Osante was most dominant at No. 6, winning 6-0, 6-1.  It took extra work at No. 4 for Polina Makarenko in the first set, 7-5, but she crusied 6-2 after that.
 

Sara Gonzalez accounted for the lone point for FPU, earning a straight-set victory at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2.

Championship play resumes Monday in Flushing, N.Y. when Saint A's takes on No. 1 seed Adelphi at 11 AM.  Assumption and SNHU make up the other semifinal.

Match #2: #5 Saint Anselm vs. #1 Adelphi 
Match #3: #2 Assumption vs. #3 Southern New Hampshire 

Tuesday, April 28th

Match # 4: Match #3 winner vs Match #4 winner (12pm)
