RINGE, N.H. - Southern New Hampshire used a four-run second inning and then jumped on the scoreboard late to seal a 10-4 win Friday, eliminating No. 1 seed and No. 19 Franklin Pierce from the Northeast 10 Softball Championship.
The regular season champions scored first, using Delaney Duford and Georgia Clough RBI for a 2-0 lead.
SNHU responded with a pair of fielder's choice scores and a pair of RBI singles in the next half inning. Kaysie DeMoura drove in a fifth run in the next frame and that's all the Penmen needed. DeMoura led the offense, finishing 3-for-3 with three RBI. Peyton Feldman added three hits. NE10 Pitcher of the Year Julianna Colbert went the distance on the mound, striking out six.

RINDGE, N.H. — The Assumption University softball team is advancing on to the Northeast 10 Conference Championship Series, as the Greyhounds knocked off the No. 2 seed, Adelphi University Panthers, 3-2, Friday afternoon at Melissa Bisaccia Field on the campus of Franklin Pierce University.

Adelphi was the first team to score, as Kaitlyn Klepper doubled home Jaylen Wright in the bottom of the first inning. Assumption evened the score at 1-1, as
Nevaeh Fatorma scored on a wild pitch, following
Bella Mara's leadoff double.
Mara would tie the game in her next plate appearance, as she laced a double up the middle, plating both
Kaylee Lacomb and
Emma Bloom, who scored on the play. The Panthers responded in the bottom of the fourth, as Ava Hershkovitz drove in Makayla Comer. From then on, the Assumption defense and
Kaelin Waldron locked down the Adelphi offense, holding them to just two hits for the rest of the game. The first one was wiped out in the sixth, as Waldron induced a 1-6-3 double play, while the final hit was eliminated in the seventh, as Hershkovitz singled to center, but was thrown out by
Kaitlyn Cahill at second base, trying to advance.
Waldron goes the distance, as she allows seven hits and two earned runs, while striking out five in the win.

Southern New Hampshire, in action for the second time Friday, scored twice in the third and twice in the fourth to defeat No. 2 seed Adelphi in the loser's bracket of the Northeast 10 Championship. The L eliminated Adelphi and pushed SNHU to Saturday's title series. The Penmen will need to defeat Assumption twice to win the NE10 title.
A pair of two-run doubles did the trick. Peyton Feldman delivered in the third and Tori Christie in the fourth. The Penmen mustered five hits for All-NE10 Rookie Teamer Sophie Roussel in the circle. The arm went 6.2 inning, dealing ninety pitches while striking out two for the win.
SNHU now makes its first title appearance since 2016, looking for its first win since 2016. Its opponent, Assumption, is playing in its third title series over the last four seasons.
