Adelphi Headlines Women's Tennis Coaches' Poll

Panthers Picked as League Favorite for Third Straight Season

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Coming off its fifth league title in program history, Adelphi has been selected first once again in the Northeast 10 Conference Women's Tennis Coaches' Poll heading into the 2026-27 season, as announced on Tuesday morning. 

Adelphi received 25 points and five first-place votes, holding off Assumption and SNHU, which tied for second with 19 points each. Franklin Pierce (12 points), Saint Michael's (9 points) and Saint Anselm (6 points) finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

Adelphi qualified for its second consecutive NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Round of 16 last spring, following a 4-1 victory over Assumption in the NE10 Championship match. The Panthers went 12-0 in conference play last year - just the third time in program history that it went undefeated against NE10 opponents (2014-15, 2015-16). Adelphi returns a pair of First Team All-Conference singles players from a year ago in Roisin Boyd and Sara Lindeman, as well as the NE10 Coach of the Year in Rebecca Fakas. 

Assumption advanced to the NE10 Championship for the first time in program history last season after a 4-0 win over SNHU in the conference semifinals. Darja Trinerova and Beren Vapur return as First Team All-Conference performers. SNHU is coming off a second straight season with double-digit wins under 20-year head coach Greg Coache. 

The 2026-27 NE10 season opens on Saturday, September 5th. The NE10 Championship is played in the spring.
