NE10 Honors 82 Winter Student-Athletes on Academic All-Conference Teams

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference released its Academic All-Conference teams for the 2021-22 winter season on Thursday afternoon, as the league recognized 82 outstanding student-athletes from seven sports for their academic and athletic excellence.

To be eligible for selection to NE10 Academic All-Conference teams, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded the following minimum requirements:

  • Started in at least half or played in at least two-thirds of the team's competitions as a significant contributor.
  • Achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) or better on a 4.0 scale.

Each NE10 institution, as well as Post – the Conference's lone associate member in the winter season - had at least one student-athlete named to the Academic All-Conference teams from this past winter. It was the first complete winter sports season for the league since 2019-20 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bentley led all NE10 institutions with 12 Academic All-Conference selections in the winter, including a league-high number of honorees in men's swimming (five) and women's swimming (four). Franklin Pierce ranked second with 10 selections, with a league-best five in men's indoor track & field. Southern Connecticut came in third with nine honorees.
 

Men's and women's indoor track & field led all winter sports with 15 student-athletes apiece named to their Academic All-Conference teams, while women's swimming & diving had 13.
 

Two student-athletes – Saint Rose's Colleen Quaglia (women's swimming) and Southern Connecticut's Christopher LeBeau (men's indoor track & field) – were named Academic All-Conference for the third time in their collegiate careers. Among the 82 student-athletes recognized, 16 of them were also honored in 2019-20.
 

Additionally, five NE10 major award winners are included on the Academic All-Conference teams: Adelphi's Emily Miccile (Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year), Saint Rose's Colleen Quaglia (Women's Swimmer of the Year), Saint Anselm's Andrew Andary (Ice Hockey Player of the Year) and Southern New Hampshire's Ashley Corcoran (Women's Track Athlete of the Year) and Joseph Fiorino (Ice Hockey Defensive Player of the Year).
