Saint Anselm, Franklin Pierce Selected for NCAA Women's Soccer Championship

Both Teams Will Serve as Host.

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Coming off a thrilling matchup in the Northeast 10 Conference Women's Soccer Championship on Sunday, Saint Anselm and Franklin Pierce were selected as the top two seeds in the East Region for the NCAA Division II Championship on Monday night.

Saint Anselm (10-2-5, 7-0-2 NE10) is the top overall seed in the East Region after winning its first NE10 Championship title since 1991. The Hawks outlasted Franklin Pierce in penalty kicks on Sunday, remaining unbeaten against conference opponents this season. It was the second-straight game where Saint Anselm was victorious in penalty kicks, as it advanced past Adelphi in the NE10 Championship semifinals in the same manner. The Hawks qualify for the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2021.

Franklin Pierce (13-2-5, 6-1-2 NE10) earned the No. 2 seed in the East Region following its runner-up finish in the NE10 Championship. The Ravens won the East Region in 2024 and advanced to the NCAA semifinals before losing to Cal Poly Pomona. It is the third time in the past four seasons that Franklin Pierce has qualified for the NCAA Championship, as it looks to defend its regional title.

Both teams will receive a first round bye and will play second round games on Sunday. Saint Anselm will host the winner of the No. 4/5 matchup of Jefferson and Wilmington, while Franklin Pierce welcomes the winner of the No. 3/6 matchup between Mercy and Roberts Wesleyan.

The NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship consists of 56 teams. The first round of the single elimination tournament begins on Thursday, Nov. 20. The semifinals and final will be played at Switchbacks FC Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
