Men's Soccer Picks Up Five All-America Selections

SNHU and Bentley Earn United Soccer's Top Honors

Michael Haikal
 and Luke Mollenhauer from Bentley men's soccer received All-American honors from the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday. Haikal was named to the first team and Mollenhauer to the third team.

This is the second All-American honor of the season for Haikal, who was voted to the third team by D2CCA.

Mollenhauer adds the All-American recognition to his mantle for the 2025 season that includes two first team All-Region nods (USC and D2CAA), the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year and first team All-Conference.

They are the first Bentley players named to an All-American team since Weston Zeiner in 2012.

Haikal, also the NE10 Player of the Year, had eight goals and five game-winners as a midfielder.

Mollenhauer, a center back, led Bentley's defense as they compiled seven shutouts and a 0.94 team goals against average.

Sophomore Gabriel Castro (León, Spain), graduate student Martin Fuentes (Pamplona, Spain) and senior Philipp Herrmann (Bruckmuehl, Germany), all  of the sixth-ranked Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team, were selected as United Soccer Coaches All-America Second Team honorees Thursday.

All three Penmen receive the first All-America honors of their career and become the 32nd, 33rd and 34th United Soccer Coaches All-Americans in program history.

Castro, a United Soccer Coaches East All-Region, Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East All-Region and NE10 All-Conference First Team selection, as well as a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District choice, this season, has scored six goals and dished an assist for 13 points, while starting all 20 matches he has played in. Castro is tied for seventh in the NE10 in goals and 10th in points.

Fuentes, who has received United Soccer Coaches East All-Region First Team, D2CCA East All-Region Second Team and NE10 First Team nods this season, has started 20 of the 21 matches he has played in, amassing 30 points on 11 goals and eight assists. He leads the league in game-winning goals (6), points and assists, while ranking second in goals. Nationally, he places third, 15th, 23rd and 26th in those respective categories.

Herrmann, also a United Soccer Coaches East All-Region First Team, D2CCA East All-Region Second Team and NE10 First Team honoree this season, has found the back of the net 10 times for 20 points, tying for third in the conference in goals, while placing fourth in points and game-winning goals (3). Herrmann, who has suited up in all 21 matches, including 20 starts, began the season on fire, scoring a goal in seven of the first eight matches, including five straight to begin the year.
