Eight Student-Athletes from Six Teams Named Field Hockey All-Americans

Assumption leads the way with a pair named

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Northeast 10 earned eight All-America selections from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Tuesday, with four players on each the first and second team and six institutions represented.

Assumption, the NE10 regular season champion, led the way with two All-Americans.  Greyhounds leading goal scorer Elle Murray was named to the All-America First Team after positng a career-high 13 goals and 30 points this fall.  Her teammate, Jillian McSorley was named to the All-America Second Team as one of DII's best defensive players despite missing a month with a broken hand.  This is also McSorley's first All-American award.

The top individual award winners in the NE10, conventionally, were all named All-America.  NE10, and East Region, Player of the Year Lana Mignon de Wet was named All-America First Team, as was conference Defensive Player of the Year Millie Forster.  Those student-athletes played for Adelphi and NE10 Champion Saint Anselm this fall.  NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year Joelle Cameron was named All-America Second Team after setting the NCAA DII record for single-season saves while posting one of the nation's top save percentages as well.  Adelphi's de Wet led the nation in scoring this season -- the third straight NE10 athlete to do so after Krista Dietz and Annemartine Christis.

Bentley's Gracie Moore had a career year with 15 goals and 12 assists.  Her 42 points as a senior were more than her first three seasons combined in Waltham.  Moore was named First Team All-NE10, All-Region and now All-American.

The remaining two All-Americans from the conference were SNHU's Jade Hendriks andf Southern Connecticut's Taylor Leckey, two of the top defensive players in the NE10 this fall.
