Nominees Released for Dr. Dave Landers Faculty Mentor Award

One Nominee from Each NE10 Institution

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the nominations for the ninth annual Dr. Dave Landers Faculty Mentor Award, which recognizes a faculty member from a league institution that has supported the efforts of student-athletes in achieving their academic goals.

There are 11 nominatons for the Faculty Mentor Award and the winner will be announced at the NE10 Banquet at Fratello's Events in the Millyard (Manchester, N.H.) on the night of Tuesday, June 3.

ALL-TIME WINNERS OF THE DR. DAVE LANDERS FACULTY MENTOR AWARD

The award is named after Dr. Dave Landers, a longtime professor and faculty athletic representative (FAR) at Saint Michael's College. The Purple Knights' faculty member of the year award is also named after Landers.

In June of 2016, the NE10 Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) created the Faculty Mentor Award – an honor which is organized and voted on by a committee made up of current NE10 SAAC members.

The winner will have his or her nomination forwarded on to the NCAA as the league's nomination for the Division II Dr. Dave Pariser Faculty Mentor Award – which was an initiative launched in 2013 by the NCAA Division II SAAC. The award is student-athlete driven and the first of its kind in the NCAA.

The NCAA Faculty Mentor Award honors an institutional faculty member who has demonstrated dedication, support and guidance to student-athletes and the institution's athletic programs. Division II sets forth a strong commitment to prepare student-athletes to excel in their endeavors after their athletics careers have ended.
