SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Over the weekend of April 26-27, the American International College football team closed out a year of impactful community engagement by participating in the Revitalize CDC service project, assisting elderly and disabled residents with home and yard clean-ups throughout the Springfield area.

More than 70 Yellow Jacket players volunteered their time and energy to support this initiative, which marked the 22nd and final community service event of the academic year for the team. Their collective efforts across all projects totaled over 400 hours of service—a testament to their commitment both on and off the field.
"Our program is built on more than just football—we're here to develop young men into leaders and positive forces in the community," said Dan Chipka, head coach of the AIC football team. "I'm proud of how our players showed up this year, not just for their teammates but for our neighbors."
Throughout the year, AIC football players took part in a range of volunteer efforts—from volunteering in charitable 5Ks, to mentoring youth, to environmental clean-up days—demonstrating their dedication to giving back and making a difference.
The partnership with Revitalize CDC, a nonprofit organization that helps preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods, was a fitting way to cap off a season defined by service.
