NE10 Player of the Week
Sydney Bennett, Southern Connecticut
Senior | Right Side Hitter | Marietta, Ga.
Bennett had a strong week of matches, where she helped the Owls have a 2-1 week and improve to an overall record of 4-1. In a 3-0 sweep, against the Cougars, she led the Owls with a team-best of 12 kills and totaled an outstanding hitting percentage of .786. It is the best attack percentage by an individual in a single game in the NE10 this season and she currently holds the highest total hitting percentage in the NE10 with .404. In a 3-1 loss against the Tigers, Bennett recorded a career-best of 14 kills and led the Owls with four blocks.
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Madeline Burke, Saint Anselm
Junior | Libero | Lake George, N.Y.
Burke accumulated 76 digs over 17 sets of volleyball to record 4.47 digs per set in Saint Anselm's 2-2 weekend in South Carolina. Her high of 23 digs came in a five-set loss to Winston-Salem.
NE10 Setter of the Week
Tory Vitko, Bentley
Sophomore | Setter | Dover, N.H.
Vitko cleared 40+ assists in two different matches this week, including a season-high 43 against nationally-ranked No. 5 West Texas A&M. She also recorded a double-double of 32 assists and 10 digs against No. 15 Point Loma. Vitko averaged 9.13 assists per set in a four-match week for Bentley.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Katelyn Rutledge, Bentley
Freshman | Middle Blocker | Fort Mill, S.C.
Rutledge put away 12 kills against nationally-ranked No. 5 West Texas A&M, and she followed up that act with another 12 kills against No. 15 Point Loma. She also totaled nine blocks against those two nationally-ranked teams. Overall, she averaged 3.0 points, 2.6 kills and 0.8 blocks per set with a .260 attacking percentage in a four-match week for Bentley.
