NE10 Player of the Week
Macarty McQueen, Adelphi
Senior | Outside Hitter | Carmel, Ind.
McQueen put up 4.29 kills and 4.71 points per set in a perfect 4-0 weekend for Adelphi against regional competition. Her near five kills per set accumulated to 60 over four matches while she also added 35 digs. Two of the four games resulted in double-doubles for the senior, with her best performance totaling 20 kills and 10 digs in a five-set win over Daemen. She posted a .392 hitting percentage over four matches.
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Elizabeth Blinn, Bentley
Senior | Middle Blocker | Concord, N.H.
Blinn totaled 21 blocks and 3.75 points per set in three matches during the East Clash Regional hosted by AIC. She had nine blocks against Molloy and nine more against AIC, as the Falcons went a perfect 3-0. Blinn ranks second in the nation for blocks per set with 1.73.
NE10 Setter of the Week
Ana Carolina Westerich, Adelphi
Junior | Setter | Blumenau, Brazil
Pacing the offense in a 4-0 week for Adelphi, Ana Carolina Westerich was responsible for 10.50 assists per set and totaled 147 over four matches. Additionally she added 32 digs (2.29 per set) and secured three service aces. Against Wilmington she notched her fourth double-double of the season and had a weekend-high 46 assists in a five set win against Daemen.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Rory Tower, Saint Michael's
Freshman | Middle Blocker | Fountain Hills, Ariz.
Tower averaged 1.9 kills, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 digs per set during a 1-2 week while hitting .314. She also dropped two aces. Tower turned in five kills on .333 hitting with five blocks and four digs in a 3-0 win over SUNY Plattsburgh on Tuesday before posting three kills, four blocks and two digs in a 3-0 loss to Post, the lone undefeated team in the region, to open Saturday. In a 3-2 setback to Saint Thomas Aquinas later in the day, Tower had 13 kills on .429 hitting with seven digs, five blocks and two aces.
