DeMartinis Leads Bentley to 5-2 Week

NE10 Player of the Week

Stan DeMartinis III, Bentley
Graduate Student | Outfielder | Boca Raton, Fla.

DeMartinis was a big producer in a 5-2 week for Bentley, as he hit 11-for-30 (.367) with three home runs, four doubles, nine runs scored and 11 RBI. He especially shined n a 3-1 weekend against Franklin Pierce, as he went 9-for-18 (.500) with a home run and seven RBI. 


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Alvin Gomez, American International
Sophomore | Pitcher | New York, N.Y.

Gomez was brilliant in hurling a complete-game, three-hit shutout against Assumption in a 2-0 win where no runs were scored until the sixth inning. He faced just two batters more than the minimum and did not allow a runner to reach base in the fifth, sixth, or seventh innings of the contest. It took him just 82 pitches to record the 21 outs, seven of which came by strikeout.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Zak Whitney, Southern New Hampshire
Freshman | Pitcher | Keene, N.H.

Whitney struck out 10 and walked one, as he allowed just one run on seven hits over seven innings of game one of Saturday’s doubleheader at Southern Connecticut. Whitney earned the win to improve to 2-0 on the season, as the Penmen cruised to a 12-5 victory. Whitney has struck out 24 and walked one over his last two outings, going 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA in that time
