Cumiskey and Whitney Stand Out for Penmen

NE10 Player of the Week

Casey Cumiskey, Southern New Hampshire
Junior | Short Stop | Milltown, N.J.

Cumiskey hit .563 (9-16) with two home runs, seven RBI and three runs scored during a 3-1 week for SNHU. Cumiskey slashed .588/1.000/1.588, as he drew a walk and had three extra-base hits. He went 8-for-9 with two home runs, six RBI and three runs scored in Saturday’s doubleheader with Jefferson. 


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Aidan Kempf, Pace
Sophomore | Pitcher | Nanuet, N.Y.

Kempf delivered a dominant outing on the mound in Pace’s win over Mercy, tossing 7.0 shutout innings while allowing just five hits and striking out 10. Kempf did not issue a walk and held Mercy scoreless throughout the start, facing 26 batters and throwing 111 pitches. Kempf limited scoring opportunities and consistently worked out of trouble to secure the victory while lowering his season ERA to 1.64. 


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Zak Whitney, Southern New Hampshire
Freshman | Pitcher | Keene, N.H.

Whitney fired seven scoreless frames, allowing just three hits, while punching out 14 without issuing a walk, in a 15-0 victory over Jefferson in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader.
