Men's Tennis 6/4/2026 12:05:17 PM Bertone and Liedbeck Named Academic All-Americans Adelphi Tennis with Two First Team Selections NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Adelphi tennis standouts Louca Bertone and Katarina Liedbeck were named First Team Academic All-Americans, as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC), this week. Both Bertone and Liedbeck were named Notheast 10 Conference Vern Cox Player of the Year and led their respective teams to NE10 Championship titles this spring. Additionally, Liedbeck was selected as Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the NE10 Banquet on Monday night. Bertone is a graduate student who earned a 3.96 (undergraduate) and 4.0 (graduate) GPA as a Sport Management major. He went 5-0 at No. 1 singles, while going 9-1 overall in conference play. It is the fourth straight year that an Adelphi player has won Player of the Year - as Bertone follows Marko Jovanovic, who won the honor in three consecutive seasons. Liedbeck is a senior who earned a 3.98 GPA as a Computer Science major. She achieves First Team Academic All-America status after two consecutive years on the Second Team (2023-24, 2024-25). Liedbeck went 11-0 at top flight singles in conference matches and became the first Adelphi player since Barbie Quagliardi in 2019 to win Player of the Year. She helped the Panthers reach the NCAA Round of 16 for the first time in program history and was named ITA East Region Senior Player of the Year. The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Division II Academic All-America® program.
