MANSFIELD, Mass. – On Thursday afternoon, the Northeast-10 Conference released its Academic All-Conference teams for the 2024 fall season, as the league recognized 99 student-athletes from seven sports for their academic and athletic excellence.
To be eligible for selection to NE10 Academic All-Conference teams, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded the following minimum requirements:
- Started in at least half or played in at least two-thirds of the team's competitions as a significant contributor.
- Achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) or better on a 4.0 scale.
All 11 NE10 institutions had at least one student-athlete selected to the Academic All-Conference teams. For a full list of honorees, please CLICK HERE.
Adelphi had a league-high 15 selections, while Bentley was a close second with 13 honorees. Five NE10 institutions had a double-digit number of selections, including New Haven and Southern Connecticut with 11 each and Southern New Hampshire with 10.
Field hockey and women's soccer led all fall sports with 22 student-athletes honored, while volleyball had 12. Football, men's cross country and men's soccer each had 11 selections. Women's cross country had 10.
Among the 99 student-athletes, 42 of them are being honored for the second time and 12 are being recognized as Academic All-Conference for the third time in their careers - including three All-Americans in Pace's Krista Dietz (field hockey), as well as Southern New Hampshire's Annemartine Christis (field hockey) and Preston Neal (men's soccer).
The NE10 had nine Player of the Year winners on the Academic All-Conference teams, including Christis (NE10 Field Hockey Player of the Year) and Neal (NE10 Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year).
Additional Player of the Year selections included Adelphi's Kambel Fiser (NE10 Volleyball Setter of the Year), American International's Victoria Mendez (NE10 Volleyball Player of the Year), Bentley's Caitlin Burmester (NE10 Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Year), Franklin Pierce's Aino Martikainen (NE10 Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year), Southern Connecticut's Owen Gagne (NE10 Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Year), Southern New Hampshire's Emma Peeters (NE10 Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Year), Southern New Hampshire's Iago Perez (NE10 Men's Soccer Player of the Year).
