Who Was Among This Week's Faces in the Crowd?

AIC gets 20 saves in a shutout half from reserve keeper

Each week during the academic year, the NE10 honors Athletes of the Week for all of its 24 sponsored sports while they are in season. Faces in the Crowd shines a spotlight on outstanding on-field performances that didn't earn Athlete of the Week recognition, while also highlighting academic or community efforts from student-athletes across the league.

Below are this week's NE10 Faces in the Crowd.

Avery Frommer
School
: Bentley
Sport: Field Hockey

Frommer had four defensive saves in Bentley's overtime meeting against Saint Anselm on October 22.  Three of those stops all came on the same corner.

Billy Gould
School
: Assumption
Sport: Football

Gould had one of the highest tackle performances in the NE10 last week in Assumption's win over AIC.  The linebacker totaled 12 tackles, a sack and a QBH.

Kerrigan Habing
School
: Southern Connecticut
Sport: Volleyball

Habing had another impressive match for the Owls as she recorded her fifth double-double this season with a career-best of 24 kills, a career-best of 14 digs, three blocks and two assists in a 3-2 victory over Pace. Her 24 kills are the second-best kills recorded in a single-game this season in the NE10.

Maya Fisher
School: Southern Connecticut
Sport: Cross Country

Fisher was the fifth Owl to score points at the NE10 Cross Country Championship last week, taking the place of Rae Geddes, who was unavailable for the race.  Fisher stepped in without missing a beat and finished in 22nd place overall, one spot out from being named all-conference.  The freshman is also a member of SCSU's ROTC program.

Quinlyn Moll
School: American International
Sport: Field Hockey

Moll has been called upon several times to come in and "stop the bleeding" as the team's second goalkeeper behind reigning Rookie of the Year Frederique den Hartog. She's allowed just one goal in five appearances, but none were as impressive as what she did on Saturday against Adelphi. She played the entire second half and faced 20 shots on goal, and turned every single one aside. Few of the saves were easy - highlights included a sliding stop on a breakaway, a diving save, several multi-save sequences, and her 20th stop coming on a point-blank shot she was able to reach up and bat away.
