WORCESTER, MASS. – Southern Connecticut women's swimming & diving won the 2025 Northeast-10 Conference Championship with a score of 1081, finishing ahead of Bentley (719) and Felician (514).
Molly Kennedy was named the Northeast-10 Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet after capturing all seven of her events - her second consecutive year doing so - and smashing records in four of them. The Owls grabbed a medal in every swimming event to and ended up totaling 33 medals - 13 gold, 11 silver, and nine bronze coming from 13 different athletes. Along with Kennedy, Justice Glasgow won seven medals - five gold and two bronze.
200 Yard Backstroke
Brooke Kenney placed second in the 200 Back with a time of 2:04.61 - she has medaled in this event for the past three years. Abby Lyons came in fifth place with a time of 2:08.26 and Zoe McNeill finished at 2:09.30.
100 Yard Freestyle
The Owls swept the podium in the 100 Free. Kennedy won the event for the second year while smashing the NE10 and Southern Connecticut record finishing with a time of 50.93, but broke the record during the preliminaries with a time of 50.92. The previous NE10 and school record was set in 2016 by Southern Connecticut swimmer Katie Crochet with a time of 51.19. Ella Marzec came in second place with a time of 51.76 and Justice Glasgow grabbed third with a time of 52.20. Arianna Arturi came in fifth with a time of 53.21.
200 Yard Breaststroke
Emma St. Hilaire came in second place in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:24.90 and Lindsay McCawley came in third with a time of 2:25.19. McCawley has finished third the past two years and won the event in 2022.
200 Yard Butterfly
The Owls also swept the podium in the 200 Fly. Julia Pitchell won the event with a time of 2:07.61. Jasmine Uricchio came in second place with a time of 2:07.92 and Paola Castillo finished third with a time of 2:08.97.
1650 Yard Freestyle
The Owls took the top two spots in the 1650 Free. Paola Castillo won the event with a time of 17:35.43 - she has won the silver medal the past two years. First-year Sierra DuCharme placed second in the event with a time of 17:54.54. Natalie Weier finished fourth with a time of 18:07.10
400 Yard Freestyle Relay
The Owls 400 Free Relay "A" team of Molly Kennedy, Ella Marzec, Justice Glasgow, and Arianna Arturi won the event with a record-breaking time of 3:27.69. They broke both the NE10 record which was set in 2020 by Assumption with a time of 3:29.31. The Southern Connecticut record was set in 2018 by Megan Garner, Alina Tucker, Sydney Fromkin, and Katie Crochet with a time of 3:30.40.
