Montesa Earned First Team Honors from D2CCA.

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Adelphi ace pitcher Dawson Montesa capped-off his remarkable season by earning All-America recognition from both the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Montesa was named a D2CCA First Team All-American and NCBWA Third Team All-American after going 8-1 on the mound with a 1.99 ERA this season. He allowed only 16 earned runs while recording 105 strikeouts in 72.1 innings of work. He held opposing hitters to a .207 batting average.

Over the past few weeks, Montesa had tallied several awards, being named Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division Pitcher of the Year and East Region Pitcher of the Year. He ranked in the top 10 of all Division II pitchers in strikeouts, strikeouts per nine innings and ERA.

Montesa becomes Adelphi's first All-American since Matt Alifano in 2022 and the first to earn NCBWA honors since Dillon McNamara in 2013.
