Over the summer, college baseball players flock to various teams all over the country to hone their skills and potentially be seen by pro scouts. NE10 student-athletes have see some great success this summer, headlining various clubs at some of the highest summerball levels. Take a look at a sampling of the stat-lines so for this June/July.
SAM CAVOSSA, St. Michael's
The Purple Knights star is hitting a whopping .389 this summer to rank among the leading hitters in the Futures League. He's driven in 21 runs and scored 29 times in just 27 games. Cavossa hit .376 during the spring in Colchester.
BRENDAN SENCAJ, Bentley
Coming off an historic season for the Falcons, Sencaj ranks sixth in the NECBL in hitting. He put on the July 3rd Fireworks himself with three homeruns at Keene -- part of driving in seven runs in two games. He's playing for the Sanford Mariners.
ANDREW CHENEVERT, St. Anselm
The Hawks pitcher has made huge strides from the spring, sitting at 5-0 in six appearances in the Futures League for Nashua. Chenevert has posted a 2.17 summer ERA.
NIK PAVIA, Franklin Pierce
One of the NE10's top pitchers, Pavia struck out 12 batters in 11 innings for the Keene Swamp Bats this summer.
NIC SERCE, AIC
A two-way star for AIC this spring, Serce is playing first base in the Coastal Plain League this summer alongside mostly DI talent for the Morehead City Marlins.
GIANCARLO RENGIFO, Adelphi
Rengifo is bringing five big booms to the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League this summer, driving in 13 runs while stealing eight bases.
STEVEN KIENZLE, SNHU
The Penmen catcher is hitting .319 in the Hamptons this summer as one of the top 10 hitters in the league.
ROCCO CIMINO, Pace
Like Kienzle, Cimino is one of the best hitters this summer in the Hampton's Summer Collegiate League. In 17 games he's batting .322 with nine RBI, 13 runs and five steals.
BRIAN ESPINAL, Pace
The reliever is dominating for the North Fork Ospreys this summer, going 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA with 19K's in 14 innings in the Hamptons.
RIVER HART, SNHU
One of the top names in the NE10, Hart has plasted three homers for the Nashua Silver Knights this summer in the FCBL.
COLE PATTERSON, AIC
Nobody can catch the lefty junior. He's racked up 18 steals this summer for Nashua in the Futures League.
BRENNAN STAUBLEY, SCSU
A .286 hitter this summer with 13 RBI, Staubley is playing for the New Britain Bees in the FCBL.
