SCSU Wins Historic Men's and Women's Indoor Titles

Margins of Victory Mark the Most in NE10 History

The TLDR
  • Southern Connecticut's men and women both set the Northeast 10 Championship record for largest margin of victory.  The men won by 137 points while the women took the gold by 145.5.  The SCSU women also equaled the record for most points by a single team in a championship with 247.
  • The Adelphi men took second place, their best finish in program history.
  • The Saint Anselm women took second place, their best finish in program history.
  • Only two individuals repeated as champions from the 2025 meet: Logan Montgomery (STA) in the men's 400m and Lawrence Hicks (SCSU) in the men's high jump
  • Seven men's championships and two women's championships were won by freshmen.

BOSTON, Mass. – Southern Connecticut Men's Indoor Track & Field won their ninth straight Northeast 10 Conference Championship at the TRACK at New Balance. It is their 20th conference championship overall. The team scored 241 points, 137 points ahead of second place. The Owls totaled 21 medals, a combination of individual and relay medals secured throughout both days of competition.
 
Colton Sallum earned the Most Vaulable Athlete Award on the Men's Side.
 
It is the third straight season that both the men and women have won both the men's and women's indoor NE10 Championships. In addition, it is the second time in NE10 history that a school has won both the men's and women's indoor championships, and the men's and women's cross-country championships in the same year.

TRACK
60 Meter Hurdles
Osaretin Osagie won the Gold Medal in the 60 Meter Hurdles in a time of 8.05, one of the best times in Division II, this season.
1 Mile Run
It was an Owls' sweep on the podium as Jonathan Volpe won the Gold Medal in a time of 4:09.82, Nathanael Huebner captured the Silver Medal in a time of 4:15.71 and Francis Porrini captured the Bronze Medal in a time of 4:16.11. William Lamburn came in 10th in a time of 4:27.92.
400 Dash
Sam Sandler secured the Silver Medal in a time of 47.78, with one of the best times in Division II this season. Quinn Favorite got the Bronze Medal in a time of 48.83. Osaretin Osagie came in sixth in a time of 48.98 and Max Musial came in seventh in a time of 49.29.
3000 Run
Colton Sallum captured the Gold Medal in a time of 8:38.73 while John Glidden secured the Bronze Medal in a time of 8:39.63. Ryan Gagne finished in eighth place in a time of 8:59.15 and Dominic Tartarelli came in 17th place in a time of 9:12.89.

4x800 Relay
The relay team of Jack Mulcunry, Gavis Kane, Francis Porrini and Jonathan Volpe secured the Gold Medal in a time of 7:46.84.

4x400 Relay
The relay team of Sam SandlerMax MusialMarquis Ward and Quinn Favorite secured the Gold Medal in a time of 3:18.26.

200 Dash
Taffie Todd came in fourth in a time of 21.76 and Jalil Pena came in fifth place in a time of 21.86.
 
FIELD
Shot Put
Chris Amy won the Gold Medal in the Shot Put with a mark of 16.30 meters (53' 5 ¾"). Aidan Chittendenwon the Silver Medal with a mark of 15.29 meters (50' 2"). Jayden Brown came in fifth place with a mark of 14.61 meters, Leo Jolly came in sixth with a mark of 14.54 meters, Trevor Dixon came in 10th place with a mark of 13.19 meters and Tim Cavrell came in 11th place with a mark of 12.99 meters.
 
High Jump
Lawrence Hicks captured the Gold Medal with a mark of 2.06 meters (6'9"), one of the best marks in Division II this season. Joseph French-Graham and Joal Barros both came in sixth place with a mark of 1.86 meters. Weston Dzwonchyk came in 11th place with a mark of 1.81 meters.
 
Triple Jump
Ty Phelan came in fourth place with a mark of 12.81 meters (42' 0 ½").
 
HEPTATHLON
Aiden Lanciault won the Gold medal with a total of 4,712 points and Elliot Childs secured the Bronze Medal with a total of 4,532 points.

60 Hurdles
Childs came in second with a time of 8.68, while Lanciault came in fourth in a time of 9.03.

Pole Vault
Lanciault came in first with a mark of 4.05 meters (13' 3 ½") while Childs came in third with a mark of 3.65 meters (11' 11 ¾").

1000 Meter Run
Lanciault came in second with a time of 3:02.74, while Childs came in sixth in a time of 3:09.78.

Uliana Pokutnia earned the Elite 24 Award; the award is given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the NE10 Championship. Belle Smith and Deja Fitzpatrick-Bell were named Women's Most Outstanding Field Performers of the NE10 Championship. Courtney Henchcliffe was named the Women's Most Outstanding Track Performer and the Most Valuable Athlete Award on the Women's side.

TRACK 
60 Meter Hurdles
Patrice Mansfield won the Gold Medal in a time of 8.61 and Amanda Castaldi secured the Silver Medal in a time of 8.62, both were some of the best times in DII, this season.
 
1 Mile Run
Abigail Bajorek secured the Silver Medal in a time of 5:09.29, Erin Sola secured the bronze medal in a time of 5:12.62. Rae Geddes came in fourth place in a time of 5:13.51.
 
400 Meter Dash
Avery Winters captured the Gold Medal in a time of 57.33. Djamilla Toukour came in fifth in a time of 58.40.
 
800 Meter Run
Maya Fisher secured the Silver Medal in a time of 2:19.73, in the 800 meters.
 
3000 Meter Run
Courtney Henchcliffe secured the Gold Medal in a time of 10:03.11 and McKenzie David secured the Silver Medal in a time of 10:33.11. PJ Dauphinais came in fourth place in a time of 10:39.46, Anna Wayne came in 15th place in a time of 11:36.53 and Sarah Johnson came in 23rd place in a time of 13:04.28.

200 Meter Dash
Amanda Castaldi captured the Silver Medal in a time of 25.15. Patrice Mansfield came in fifth place in a time of 25.42.
 
4x800 Relay
The relay team of Rae GeddesMaya FisherErin Sola and Abigail Bajorek captured the Gold Medal in a time of 9:42.78.
 
4x400 Relay
The relay team of Lindsay DrozdJoelle BudzDjamilla Toukour and Cedar Reilly came in fourth place in a time of 4:04.74.
 
60 Meter Dash
Paige Wilks finished in fourth place in a time of 7.87.

It was an Owls' sweep on the podium as Darla Jagrosse captured the Gold Medal with a mark of 12.90 meters (42' 4"), Kayla Johnson secured the Silver Medal with a mark of 12.69 meters (41' 7 ¾") and Belle Smith captured the Bronze Medal with a mark of 12.58 meters (41' 3 ¼").

Triple Jump
Uliana Pokutnia secured the Gold Medal with a mark of 11.27 meters (36' 11 ¾") and Deja Fitzpatrick-Bellcaptured the Bronze Medal with a mark of 11.19 meters (36' 8 ½").
