Fifteen Named Baseball All-Region

George Slauson and John Carver Named Player and Pitcher of the Year

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass.  -- Northeast 10 Player of the Year George Slauson added two more trophies to his case, picking up East Region Player of the Year via both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and D2 Conference Commissioner's Association.  Adelphi's ace, John Carver -- the NE10 Pitcher of the Year, was named East Region Pitcher of the Year by the NCBWA as well.

Slauson hit a career-best .444 with 13 home runs and 69 RBI this season.  He slugged nearly .800 for the Hawks and was among the nationally leaders in batting average all year.  Carver was one of the top strikeout pitchers in the nation, K'ing 92 batters in only 57 innings.

The NE10 led all East Region conferences in all-region selections.  The league received 16 honorees from the NCBWA (nine first team) and 15 selections from the D2CCA (10 on the first team).  NE10 Champion Bentley earned five names on the list with SNHU - the regular season champs - earned six.
