Slauson and Pappas Named Baseball All-Americans

Pair Earns Third Team Honors from NCBWA

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Northeast 10 earned a pair of All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association this week.  Bentley outfielder Nick Pappas and NE10 Player of the Year, Saint Anselm first baseman George Slauson, were both named to the organization's third team.

Slauson led all third team selections with 69 runs batted in this spring.  He did that with tremendous power, belting 13 home runs but also stealing nine bags while hitting a career-best .444.  Slauson is the first baseball All-American on the Hilltop since 2011.  His 69 RBI equal a single-season record for a Hawk.

Pappas, like Slauson, was a first team All-NE10 selection this spring.  The Bentley captain hit .407 with 10 home runs and 54 RBI this season and continues to play in the NCAA Championship with the Falcons.  Under Pappas's leadership, Bentley is playing in both its first NCAA tournament and Super Regional.  That follows Bentley having won its first conference title this spring as well.
