NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Six Northeast 10 baseball student-athletes, including Player of the Year George Slauson and Pitcher of the John Carver, gathered All-America recognition Friday from the D2 Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA). Bentley, playing this weekend in the College World Series for the first time, led the way with three total honorees.
Slauson collects yet another trophy, having already been named an All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association. The Saint Anselm first baseman accomplished the feat of being a massive power hitter that also led the league in batting average this spring. Slauson hit .444 with 13 long balls and a 1.313 OPS (which also led the conference). Slauson was named to the D2CCA All-America third team.
Joining Saint Anselm's corner infielder on the third team is Carver, who posted his best season on Long Island. He went 8-1 with a 2.67 ERA, but dazzled more than anything with 92 strikeouts in just 57.1 innings. He K'd almost three batters for each he walked this season and held batters to a .186 average.
The final NE10'er on the third team is Bentley's Brendan Sencaj. The junior was all-region in 2025 after setting the Bentley season hits record (broken this year). He enters the DII CWS with 17 home runs and a .350 average. Sencaj has driven in a team-best 80 runners. Along with Carver and Slauson, NE10 student-athletes account for nearly 19% of the entire All-America third team nationally.
The NE10 earned three additional honorable mention recognitions. Bentley sluggers Stan DeMartinis III and Nick Pappas both earned honors along with SNHU shortstop Casey Cumiskey. DeMartinis set the Bentley home run record with 23 blasts this spring. Pappas hit 12 homers with 61 RBI and a .399 average.
Cumiskey represents an SNHU offense that was equally as impressive as Bentley. The New Jersey native belted 20 home runs to rank second in the NE10.
With three honorable mention nods, the NE10 also accounted for nealry 19% of all honorable mention selections as well.
