NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Adelphi Panthers are looking for NCAA DII National Championship number 10 this spring. The Northeast 10 champion, AU headlines a group of three conference squads selected for the NCAA Championship as the No. 1 seed in the East Region.
As the top seed Adelphi earns a bye straight to the second round where it will host the winner of Wilmington and Dominican (NY) on Saturday at 1pm. Pace draws the No. 2 spot and will also host a game on Saturday at 1pm.
The Setters opponent will be either Mercy out of the East Coast Conference or Southern Connecticut State, which makes the NCAA field for the first time in program history. SCSU and Mercy will play in Pleasantville Thursday at 4pm.
The bracket this spring is a 24-team field, expanding for the second straight year. Play begins Thursday with the second round two days later. The quarterfinals commence May 16th before the regional champions head to Rochester, N.Y. for the semifinals and national championship on May 21st and 23rd. The Final Four will be contested at RIT's brand new Judson Stadium. The park is a $30 million facility that was just dedicated this spring.
The NE10 has made its presence known in recent seasons, appearing in the season's final game in three straight seasons, the longest string by a single conference since the NE10 did it from 2014 to 2019. Adelphi has fallen in the title game the last two seasons after Pace captured its first national championship in 2023. This year marks the first time since 2011 that the NCAA final will be contested within the state's of the Northeast 10 footprint.
