Each week during the academic year, the NE10 honors
Athletes of the Week for all of its 24 sponsored sports while they are in season. Faces in the Crowd shines a spotlight on outstanding on-field performances that didn't earn Athlete of the Week recognition, while also highlighting academic or community efforts from student-athletes across the league.
Faces in the Crowd is presented by Athletic Solutions, a national leader in NIL fan engagement and e-commerce technology, collaborating with colleges and universities to bring NIL Locker Rooms
to life. Their platform simplifies NIL opportunities, providing student-athletes with the tools and exposure needed to thrive in the evolving landscape of college athletics.
Below are this week's
NE10 Faces in the Crowd.
JA
JOHN AMANING
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT I FOOTBALL
Amaning has run for exactly 158 yards in consecutive weeks, pushing SCSU past Post this past weekend. The games rank third for most rushing yards in a game this season in the conference. He also carried the ball the most of any RB in the league across both games, proving to be a huge workhorse for the Owls.
KL
KEVIN LEAL
FRANKLIN PIERCE I FOOTBALL
Leal had his best day of the season vs. Bentley, going 15-25 through the air for 312 yards and five touchdowns. The only thing that kept him from Player of the Week honors was likely the fact that half his yards and three touchdowns all went to the same guy -- Player of the Week Joe Mugovero.
AS
ARALYN SAULYS
PACE I VOLLEYBALL
The sophomore setter wasn't assisting in a four-set win over Queens. Well, she was, but that wasn't her only contribution. Saulys served up eight aces -- the most in the NE10 in a single match this year.
RT
RORY TOWER
SAINT MICHAEL'S I VOLLEYBALL
Tower has the top two blocking performances in the NE10 this season, including her eight-block performance against Roberts Wesleyan last week. Earlier in the year she posted nine against Felician. Tower had three solo stuffs and a huge offensive day with 11 kills against RWU.
MZ
MILAGROS ZANATELLI
AMERICAN INT'L I FIELD HOCKEY
Zanatelli scored five goals on 10 shots for 10 points in AIC's win over STAC last week. She's the only player in the NE10 to score four, let alone five, goals in a game this season. The total is a Yellow Jacket record, snapping a mark she had set before.

Each year, 4,500 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 24 sports, making the NE10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship. Leading the way in the classroom, on the field and within the community, the NE10 is proud of its comprehensive program and the experience it provides student-athletes.
