Swimming and Diving 2/13/2025 9:59:58 PM SCSU Leads Following Thursday Session of NE10 Championship Owls Dominate in Freestyle Races WORCESTER, Mass. - Southern Connecticut, the reigning league champion on both the men's and women's sides, got off to a good start at the 2025 Northeast-10 Conference Swimming & Diving Championship on Thursday night at the WPI Sports & Recreation Center. SCSU won three of the four 'A' final races on the opening night of the Championship - led by a program-record swim from its 800 Women's Free Relay - to take an early lead in both standings. MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING On the men's side, SCSU has 96 points, while Adelphi has 82 points and Bentley has 77 points. The Owls won gold in the 800 Free Relay, with Drew Ladner, Benjamin Frazer, McAllistar Milne and Franklin Kuhn swimming to a time of 6:45.00. Adelphi finished second in the 800 Free Relay, as Cooper Rivers, Tyler Thompson, Valerii Pidhoretskyy and Tristan Weingarten swam a time of 6:49.50. In the 1000 Free, Gus UpChurch won gold with a time of 9:38.97, just three seconds faster than Bentley's Leighton Wielgoszinski. 1. SCSU - 96 points 2. Adelphi - 82 points 3. Bentley - 77 points 4. Pace - 22 points WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING SCSU swept the women's races on Thursday night, highlighted by a record performance from the 800 Free Relay of Molly Kennedy, Arianna Arturi, Paola Castillo and Brooke Keeney - which recorded a time of 7:36.90, just two seconds short of a Championship record. Bentley took second in the 800 Free Relay with a time of 7:43.89 behind a strong performance from Taylor White, Grace Motisi, Skyla Lang and Jordan Nuzback. Felician, the newest associate member for the NE10, took third place in the relay. SCSU had the top two swimmers in the 1000 Free, as Lindsay McCawley (10:25.72) and Castillo (10:27.30) finished first and second, respectively. Bentley's White placed third. 1. SCSU - 137 points 2.
