SCSU Has Great Showing at UConn DogFight

NE10 Track Athlete of the Week

Patrice Mansfield, SCSU
Senior I Wallingford, Conn.

Mansfield ran the 100m Hurdles and 4x100 at the UConn DogFight, setting a PR 13.95 in the former to finish fifth in the DI-heavy field.  Both her performances are the best in the NE10 this spring and her 100m Hurdle time is 14th nationall after two weeks.  She is the second in SCSU school history to break 14 seconds in the 100m Hurdle.


NE10 Field Athlete of the Week

Kayla Johnson, SCSU
Sophomore

Johnson marked 13.11m in the Shot Put last week at the UConn DogFight, leading the East Region by a full meter and finishing ninth at the event, full of DI competition.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Hawaye Adam, American Int'l
Freshman  I  Hartford, Conn.

Adam soared in the Long Jump at Hartford's Rage In The Cage Invitational, winning easily in 5.78 meters. That jump puts her first in the NE10 by 0.54 meters and second in the East Region.
