Assumption Grabs Pair of Honors

Week 8 - October 28, 2024


NE10 Offensive Player of the Week

Vinnie Holmes, Bentley
Graduate Student | Running Back | Mansfield, Mass.

 

Holmes had 107 yards on 13 carries (8.2 average) and three touchdowns in Bentley's 61-28 win over Post on Saturday. His longest run of the day was 53 yards. 


NE10 Defensive Player of the Week

Tyler Royall, Assumption
Senior | Defensive Back | Silver Spring, Md.

 

Royall was all over the field in Assumption's 19-14 win over New Haven on Saturday. The safety tallied eight tackles, five solo, two pass breakups, and an interception in the second quarter, which set up a go-ahead field goal to close out the first half.  


NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week

Massimo Sgambati, Assumption
Junior | Kicker | Farmington Hills, Mich.

 

Sgambati went 4-of-5 on field goal attempts in Assumption's 19-14 win over New Haven. The lefty kicker connected from 32, 39, 43, and a career-long 48 yards while also converting on his only PAT of the afternoon. Sgambati leads the NE10 with nine field goals this season, while his 90% field goal percentage ranks second nationally. 


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Connor Dietz, American International
Freshman | Quarterback | Point Pleasant, N.J. 

 

Dietz continued to impress in his rookie campaign, especially with his legs. He busted out several key plays to total 110 yards on the ground and helped lead AIC's game-winning drive that allowed the Yellow Jackets to crash Pace's Homecoming, 14-7, while throwing a touchdown pass as well.
